What is this site all about?

We are a social network built around, and for, the posting and browsing of free classified ads.

Are there any charges for using the website?

No. You can have an account, post and browse the classified ads all for free. There is also no charge if you complete a transaction. In the future we may offer optional additional features. These will only be optional and will only add to the service. The current basic features will always be free.

How do I register?

How do I publish an ad?

To publish a free ad you will first need to have an account. You can sign up by following the sign up link in the header of any page on the website. It's fast, free and easy.

Once you have an account you can publish an ad from any page on the website. Simply click the 'publish a free ad' button located in the top header of any page on the website. You will be taken to a one page form where you can fill in all the details of your ad, including title, body, upload photos and even include 'tags' to better describe your ad and help others search and find your ad.

Once you are satisfied simply click the 'publish ad' button and your ad will appear online. If you want to edit any details click the edit button and you will be able to go back and change the details.

Remember to click the 'publish' button otherwise your ad will not be visible online.

To see any of your ads which might be offline you will find a link to those ads in your My RedeParede area. You can find your My RedeParede link in the header of any page once you are logged in.

How do I correct an ad?

Enter your login and password, click on “my RedeParede”, click on “Posts you've made”, click on the ad’s title, click on “edit”, and then correct the ad’s words.

Paid postings

We may charge a fee to post content in some areas of the services. The fee is an access fee permitting a posting to be posted in a designated area. Each party posting content to the Site is responsible for said content and compliance with the TOU. All fees paid will be non-refundable.

How do I take one of my ads offline?

Enter your login and password, click on “my RedeParede”, click on “Posts you've made”, click on the ad’s title, click on “take off air”, then your ad will be placed in the “Your preview posts” folder.

How do I signup for an account?

Just create a login name (no spaces please). Choose carefully, the login name will also become part of your personalized URL, for example: redeparede.com/user/yourname. Create a password with letters and/or numbers. Sign up your email address, paying special attention so as to type the email address correctly. Many times a day we notice people type the email address incorrectly. Later you will be asked to verify this email address to receive any email communications from the site. You can always opt out of this email communication. If you forget your login or password this is also the email address we will send a reminder email to.

Is there a charge to have an account?

No charge. It's free.

Are the ads really free?

Yes, they really are free. Nothing is charged for the ads or any transactions. Tell your friends!

In the future we also plan to offer premium accounts with additional useful features. These accounts will be totally optional and available to users who find the additional features useful and something they are willing to pay for. We also may sell premium classified ads which could receive preferential placement on the site. These services will always be 100% optional. Our service of offering users a free platform to publish classified ads will never stop being the main focus of the site.

I have problems with my password or login? What do I do?

From the login page follow the link 'forgotten your username or password?' There you will be able to type the email address associated with your account. A new password and your login name will be quickly emailed to you. If you never receive the email, if your email address is not in our system or if you can't remember which email you signed up with, please end us an email and we will scour our database looking for your information. Please include your name and the city you signed up with along with the email and login name you think you might have signed up with. We'll get you sorted out just be patient with us.

Why was my ad taken down?

We reserve the right to remove any listing the majority of our users don't want to see. Our users express their opinions by flagging ads they find offensive, mis-categorized or spammy. When enough users flag an ad the ad is automatically removed. Hey, it's a democratic system... and the ads are free...

That being said, we usually only manually remove ads which are in violation of our Terms of Service, SPAM and multi-level marketing.

SPAM is posting the same or basically the same ad multiple times on the site. Nobody likes searching the listings and seeing the same ad over and over. Say it once and say it right.

Multi-level marketing ads, pyramid schemes and franchises. If you think you have a unique idea here... think again. You need to be very high on the food chain to make any money following these schemes. The people at the top of these companies have thousands of people out pursuing the same goals. It doesn't serve our users having thousands of the same types of ads on the site from many different users all selling or offering the same thing. If you think your offer is so unique we suggest setting up your own website and spending the marketing dollars to market your idea correctly. We see thousands of these ads and we vigorously remove them.

Please post Adult content in the Adult section. We don't need a picture of your bare backside ending up on the front page.. thank you very much.

What are the reputation graphs I see on profiles and ads?

The reputation graphs are a visual representation of all the ratings a person has received. RedeParede members are encouraged to leave ratings about their experiences with each other. Having a good reputation is one way to show other members you are honest and trustworthy. Invite your friends into RedeParede to help build up your reputation and encourage other people you meet on RedeParede to rate you. Be careful when dealing with newer members who have not yet built up a reputation or a network of contacts. Once you are a RedeParede member you can rate any user from their profile page or from any mail message between you and another member.

What happens to a comment I don't agree with?

You can post a comment in response.

You can flag the comment as inappropriate and our administrators will review the comment.

How do I insert photos into my ad?

You can insert photos into your ad on the same form you use to publish your ad. Near the bottom of the form there is a section with three boxes for photos and a browse button. Click the button and you can browse the photos you have on your local computer and then select the photo you want to include in your ad. When you are done filling out the ad form and you click the preview button your photo will be uploaded automatically to your ad. Please make sure your photos are in the JPG PNG or GIF format.

What is the maximum photo size placed in the ads and profiles?

The maximum size is 500 x 500 pixels.

Which photo will appear as a thumbnail on the site?

The first photo out of the three you upload will be used as the thumbnail.

Can I put photos into my ad after I have published my ad?

No. Unfortunately once you preview your ad you can't go back and edit the photos so be careful and choose wisely. If you really want to change photos, take your ad offline by clicking the take offline button and then make a new ad. In the future we will build this functionality into the site. Our engineers are already working on this.

How do I put a photo onto my profile?

You can add a photo (an avatar in internet speak) into your profile by entering the configurations area. This area can be found by clicking the link in the top header of any page on the website. In the configurations area you can find a box for "your photo" which will allow you to browse the photos on your local computer. Choose one and then click the big red update button towards the bottom of the page. Your photo should now be on your profile.

If you need help making a good avatar try some of the online photo sites specifically designed for this purpose. One we like is http://mypictr.com/ Sorry it is only in english for the moment.

What is a cloned ad?

Cloning an ad allows you to make the same ad over and over again with out filling out the form again. This is useful if your add expires and you want to repost an item. Please don't abuse this feature.

Why am I not receiving notifications to my email address?

Did you verify you email address? If you didn't we won't send any emails to the email address you signed up with.

Our emails might be going into your Junk Mail folder. Please check this folder. Also, please add redeparede.com to your list of contacts so your email provider doesn't block our emails.

Where is the email from RedeParede with the link to verify my email address?

When you sign up for an account our robot automatically sends out an email with a link. You need to follow this link back to RedeParede to verify your email address. If you did not receive this email you can have this email resent by clicking the resend link found on your My RedeParede page.

If you still do not receive the email from RedeParede with the link to verify your email address please check several things.

Login to your account and then go to the configurations page. Verify that the email address we have for you is correct. If it is not, please correct the address and update the page by clicking the red update button at the bottom of the page.

Please add redeparede.com to you list of contacts or safe list so your email provider doesn't block our email.

Please check your spam folder just in case our email is being sent to that folder.

You can try signing up for a different email provider. Some providers are notorious for blocking emails and doing nothing to help users. Our least favorite provider we can think of IG.COM.BR.

If all else fails, we designed our system so you don't need email. You can always just login and receive all your messages and communications right in your message center located in the My RedeParede area.

Why do I need to verify my email address?

When you sign up for an account our robot automatically sends out an email with a link. You need to follow this link back to RedeParede to verify your email address really belongs to you. We need to do this to combat spammers and mistaken emails addresses.

How do I get in touch with the person who posted an ad I am interested in?

You can click on the reply button located on the post page to send a private message. You can also send a private message directly from their profile page. If you like you can also post a public comment.

Why should I add contacts?

Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you are friends or colleagues! Adding contacts lets you create a history with other users on the site and remember who you liked and disliked. Increase your contacts and take the maximum advantage of social-searching.

How do I add other users to my contacts list?

Enter your login and password, click on the user name you wish to add to your contacts list, click the “add X as a contact” link, choose among the options, the type of relationship you have with the person (contact, favorite, family), click on ”add contact”.

What if I do not see my city?

You can post to the city nearest you, post to the national section or suggest a new city for us to create.

Do I need to register to post an ad?

Yes.

Can I reply to an ad without registering?

Yes.

What is a "tag"

A tag is descriptive keyword you can add to your posts during the posting process to help to other people find your post. The tag can be about your location or add details about subject of your post.

What is the difference between a comment and a reply?

A comment is public and a reply is private.

What do I do if I feel like someone is abusing me or spamming me and/or the site?

Please flag the offending content and user and if needed please contact us immediately.

Do you share my private details?

Never. We guard you private details and would never share them for any reason.
