About RedeParede

RedeParede is a free local classifieds service open to anyone. You can buy, sell or rent just about anything, find a job, promote an event, advertise the services your business offers, you may even find love... and don't forget to join in our lively discussion forums

The site is free to use. We support our operational costs by placing paid advertisements around the site, currently from Google. We also accept sponsorship proposals and offer optional paid upgrades to the free classified ads users publish.

We became a legal business entity in November 2006 and have been online in our current form since April 2007. There has been a web presence at redeparede.com.br since December 2005

Why use RedeParede?

We know the main reason to use classifieds sites is to connect with that people in their local community who can satisfy their need. You want to get your message out there to the widest audience and get the best results possible.

One word describes our unique philosophy to help our members get better results: Openness.

Open Network

We are committed to creating an open community where each member can be identified by a profile page, and User's own responsibility for his behavior. Users are also free to build a network by adding contacts and creating an extended network of trusted contacts which can later be used to filter ads.

Open API

We recently opened our API for developers (Application Programming Interface). Without getting too geeky, an open API means developers are free to push and pull classified ads to and from the RedeParede system. This has the potential to create a much larger network of classified ads inside and outside RedeParede. The possibilities are only limited by what creative developers can imagine and then build. The benefit for users will be that a classified ad can be posted to one place on the network and appear in many different places getting the widest possible exposure and increasing the chances for a positive response.

Open Data

We believe as users, our identity, photos and other forms of personal data should be discoverable by, and shared between our chosen (and trusted) tools or vendors. That means your friends and your data will never be trapped within RedeParede. We promise to implement all available technologies to achieve this end. What about that name?

It's Portuguese! Pronounced: Head-Gee Pa-Red-Gee

RedeParede is what happens when you pick a name drinking Chopp. Literally translated it means "Network Wall". It means nothing and everything.

Who's behind the site?

We are an international team of web developers with nationalities from across the globe including Brasil, Argentina, The United States, France & United Kingdom.

We work according to accepted web standard and accesible methodologies. We enjoy writing elegant code and creating efficient scalable solutions to our Rails application building.

Most of all we enjoy treating each and every user with respect. Our goal is to build a site where the help section is no longer necessary. :)
